With the title of "Exploring the traditional visual elements of Chinese animated films", this paper discusses the development process of Chinese animated films. Through the introduction of the research background, the paper points out the importance of Chinese animated films and the necessity of research. Subsequently, through the combing of the development process of Chinese animated films, the paper puts forward the development trend of Chinese animated films from the initial stage to the modern breakthrough and challenge. Then, this paper analyzes in detail the traditional visual elements in Chinese animated films, including the expression of Chinese style, the integration of Chinese traditional symbols and the reproduction of Chinese traditional art. In addition, this paper takes an in-depth study of Zha, Big Fish and Begonia, Yangtze River 7 and Journey to the West to analyze the traditional visual elements in Chinese animated films. It also discusses the influence of these elements of traditional vision on the Chinese animated film industry and the global animated film industry, as well as the implications for the future animated film creation. Finally, the results of the paper are summarized and reviewed for future research.
