Maintaining the reliability of a system is one of the most critical and challenging tasks for
factories during production. Researchers have begun to investigate the integrated
optimization problem of preventive maintenance (PM) and production scheduling with a
single objective. In this paper, our objective function includes five parts; minimizing
maintenance cost, make span, total weighted completion time of jobs, total weighted
tardiness, and maximizing machine availability are simultaneously considered to optimize
the integrated problem of PM and production scheduling. We solve the problem with two
different types of PM on multi-parallel-machine. Each of them includes multi jobs. First:
When a part needs to be repaired and the second type considers when a part needs to be
changed. Genetic algorithms help us to solve this model for finding a Local Optimum solution
for this problem.
