Communicative Approach: Some Misapprehensions

Though Communicative Language Teaching (CLT) is acknowledged by the National Curriculum &
Textbook Board (NCTB) and many English teachers as one of the most effective approaches in
English language teaching in Bangladesh, there are still a number of misapprehensions about it.
By comparing Johnstone; Sato and Kleinsasser and Thompson as well as Spada, this article
focuses on four of the main misapprehensions, which are usually held by the language teachers
and researchers.
