There are various types of vaccines have been introduced to date. The use of this vaccine is due to the spread of a dangerous virus that causes disease to humans. Vaccines are used to help the immune system and strengthen the human body's immunity. The use of vaccines especially in Islamic countries has always been debated in terms of its halal status. This is because most vaccines consist of najs (impurities). In fact this is also a major reason for use by anti-vaccine groups. The objective of this study was to examine the status of vaccines in Malaysia based on the needs of science and Islam. This study was conducted with qualitative methods through literature review and document analysis. The results show that through the findings of medical science, vaccines are indeed important to ensure that the spread of harmful viruses will not harm humans. Based on the demands of the need for vaccines in the preservation of life and health which is in line with the requirements of Maqasid al-Shariah. Although most of the vaccines used are derived from najis (impurities) but they are categorized as emergency. The use of halal vaccines should be used when they are produced and used in the future.
