Knowledge sharing plays a vital role in enhancing institutional performance, teaching quality, and innovation in educational institutions. Grounded in the Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB), this study examines the effect of knowledge-sharing intention on knowledge-sharing behaviour among Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) academicians in Malaysia. A quantitative, cross-sectional survey was conducted involving 141 academicians, and the data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 4. The findings reveal a positive and significant relationship between knowledge-sharing intention and knowledge-sharing behaviour (? = 0.763, p < 0.001), supporting the proposed hypothesis. The model explains 58.3% of the variance in knowledge-sharing behaviour, indicating that knowledge-sharing intention is an important predictor within the proposed model. Theoretically, this study provides context-specific empirical support for the central proposition of TPB that behavioural intention predicts behaviour within the relatively underexplored Malaysian TVET context. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of fostering academicians’ willingness to share knowledge through collaborative initiatives, peer mentoring, recognition, and supportive institutional environments. This study offers insights for educational institutional leaders and policymakers seeking to strengthen knowledge-sharing practices and support continuous improvement in TVET institutions.
